Business Continuity & Crisis Doorstaan wat toch gebeurtWithstand what happens anyway

Ransomware, a power outage, a supplier going under: at some point something happens that you could not prevent. Then only one thing counts: does your organisation know what to do?

  • Business impact analyses (BIA): welke processen mogen hoe lang uitvallen, en wat is daarvoor nodig?
  • Business impact analyses (BIA): which processes can be down for how long, and what does that require?
  • Continuity and recovery plans that are short, current and usable: playbooks, not binders.
  • Inrichting van de crisisorganisatie: rollen, mandaat, communicatie.
  • Design of the crisis organisation: roles, mandate, communication.
  • Exercises and simulations, from tabletop to realistic supply-chain exercise.
Wat het oplevertWhat it delivers

Onder druk niet improviseren, maar uitvoeren.Under pressure: execute, don't improvise.

An organisation that knows what to do, and the demonstrable proof of it, increasingly a requirement of clients, insurers and regulators.

Wat opdrachtgevers vragen over continuïteit en crisisWhat clients ask about continuity and crisis

01

Wat is een business impact analyse (BIA)?What is a business impact analysis (BIA)?

A BIA determines which of your organisation's processes may fail for how long, what they need to run (people, systems, suppliers, locations) and what the damage is if that fails. It is not an IT document but a management decision: your recovery times and the priorities in the plans follow from it.

02

What is the difference between business continuity and crisis management?

Business continuity is about keeping your most important processes running during a disruption: plans, fallback, recovery. Crisis management is about steering the situation itself: who decides, who communicates, who notifies regulators. One is the engine room, the other the bridge. They need each other, which is why we design them as one whole.

03

Hoe vaak moet je een crisisoefening doen? How often should you run a crisis exercise?

At least once a year, and after every major change in organisation, systems or crisis team. A half-day tabletop is often enough to see whether plans and mandates hold up. More important than frequency is that you use the outcome: an exercise that changes nothing was not realistic enough.

04

What does the law require from us on continuity?

The Cyberbeveiligingswet requires measures for business continuity, backup and crisis management as part of the duty of care, and a notification route that works within 24 hours. Critical entities also fall under the Wet weerbaarheid kritieke entiteiten, with their own risk assessment and resilience measures. ISO 22301 is the standard for setting this up demonstrably.

05

Hoe lang moeten continuïteitsplannen zijn? How long should continuity plans be?

As short as possible. A plan that cannot be read in ten minutes during a crisis will not be used. We write playbooks per scenario: who does what, in which order, with which contact details. The underpinning (BIA, strategies) sits behind it, not in front of it.
